Letter To America
By Mrs. Jennie Falcone Romano 1915 - 2003 (Life long resident of Roseto)
Hello America, I live in the splendor of your mountains, And lay my head on your green fields, Your fresh springs quench my thirst, And your fertile soil eases my hunger, I am grateful to be your child.
Yes, America--- This is Roseto, Nurtured, by love of humanity And of God, whose Trust I breathe, I walk in the Greatness of His Hand, And thank Him daily for His blessings.
I am proud of my heritage, And look with confidence to the future, Each year brings new progress, And my people find new interests, My streets, my Churches, my Schools All speak for themselves.
I am small, but my courage is great. I am proud of my sons who wear your colors, And prouder of those who gave their all . . . I am glad of any contribution I can make To keep our Freedoms intact! The Freedoms for which our forefathers came, And which so many still cannot enjoy!
You America, are not Roseto, But I, Roseto, am America, My hopes of the future lie in you, This is my way of telling you Of my very grateful appreciation With sincere thanks to God for His protection Of You.
I remain, your faithful servant, Roseto Pennsylvania
